Bohemia&Moravia 100 Korun 1940 Specimen UNC Rare Prefix

Issued during the Protectorate period (1940–1944), this 100 Korun note belongs to the second issue dated August 20, 1940. It is identical to the standard issue but bears the inscription “II. AUFLAGE – II. VYDANI” (Second Issue) on the back, marking its place in the Protectorate’s evolving currency series.

Printed on paper with ornamental watermarks by the National Bank’s printer in Prague, the note measures 170 x 83 mm and features multicolored front and back designs dominated by blue and red hues. The front showcases a detailed view of Prague with the castle and Charles Bridge framed in guilloche patterns, alongside the Bohemian coat of arms. The back is decorated with stylized flowers and bilingual texts in Czech and German.

This specimen example, printed for official reference and bearing a rare prefix, is highly sought after by collectors due to its scarcity and pristine Uncirculated condition.
