Bohemia&Moravia 50 Korun 1944 UNC Neplatne
Issued late in the Protectorate period on September 25, 1944, this 50 Korun banknote reflects the ongoing wartime economy under German occupation. Printed on paper with ornamental watermarks, the note measures 165 x 75 mm and showcases multicolored designs dominated by warm brown tones.
The front features a delicate wreath of flowers and ribbons framing bilingual Czech and German inscriptions, with a striking portrait of a young woman in profile wearing a headscarf on the right. The serial numbers are printed in red on the left side. On the back, a complex guilloche background surrounds a large rose window design, the denomination centered within, accompanied by the Czechoslovak coat of arms below the texts.
Marked “Neplatné” (Invalid), this note was demonetized after the war but remains a fascinating piece representing the final phase of Protectorate currency issuance.
