Czechoslovakia 1000 Korun 1944 Specimen aUNC

Issued during the final phase of World War II, this 1000 Korun note from 1944 reflects the transitional nature of the Czechoslovak state-in-exile and Soviet-aligned liberation. Designed by Ivan Ivanovič Dubasov, one of the Soviet Union’s most prominent banknote artists, it was printed by Goznak in Russia in preparation for restored Czechoslovak administration.

The front showcases intricate guilloche patterns in cool blue tones, with serials and numbering in red, and bilingual texts in Czech and Ruthenian. The reverse carries the same refined design language with decorative framing and large denominations.

This Specimen note—never released into circulation—is especially sought-after in about Uncirculated condition for its rarity and geopolitical significance in Czechoslovakia’s postwar reconstruction.
