Czechoslovakia 5000 Korun 1945 Specimen aUNC
Issued shortly after the end of World War II, this 5000 Korun note from November 1, 1945, represents Czechoslovakia’s reassertion of national identity and cultural pride. Designed by Max Švabinský and Bedřich Fojtášek, the note features elegant polychrome printing in shades of purple, green, red, and blue.
The front presents a detailed portrait of famed Czech composer Bedřich Smetana on the right, framed by olive branches and the national coat of arms at center. The reverse offers a beautifully rendered view of the National Theater in Prague, surrounded by guilloche patterns and linden trees—symbols of Czech heritage.
This Specimen note, printed for official or archival use and never circulated, is especially desirable in about Uncirculated condition due to its rarity and postwar historical context.
